1st writers’ conference

Well, I did it! I went to Write on the Sound writers’ conference this past weekend and it was fantastic! I highly recommend it! It’s not only in a beautiful town right on the sound, but it’s affordable and had great presenters.

I’m not going to write about each class in this post, but just overall feelings that I came out of it with. Hopeful & inspired!

I think the combination of the my impending departure from my job, starting school and having time to do the things that I want to do, like writing is finally sinking in.

I came home each day happy and excited and in the best mood. I couldn’t stop talking to my husband about the classes. I had tweeted a thank you to one of the presenters and he retweeted it! You would have thought that I had won the lottery I was so excited.

I loved having great conversations about writing with other writers that understood what I were saying. They didn’t judge me when I apologized for my writing. I handed out a few business cards and got a few in return from some great ladies.

I will write more this week about the classes that I went to and what I learned, but today I am riding high on the feels!

Happy writing!

  1. It was awesome to meet you at the conference, Summer! Your book is definitely the most memorable – never read about a time traveling bear! But that’s awesome, and I would definitely love to read it!

    1. It was great to meet you too, Beka! Thank you so much for your kind words! There are portions of Time Bear, as I call it now, on this blog. Would love to hear your opinion or thoughts! If you every need a reader for your work I would love to read yours as well!
